In Nice Old Town you can walk in an authentic maze of narrow alleyways, that show all the charm of the city nestled on the Bay of Angels. In addition to the many historic buildings and museums, one of the symbols of Nice is the Promenade des Anglais, the promenade that everyday hosts souvenirs and fancy goods stalls, and bands playing live music.
Other interesting areas of the city are Place Messena, with its white and grey briquettes paving, and Place Garibaldi, with the statue of the Hero of Two Worlds, who was born in Nice.
In Cimiez quarter there are an interesting archaeological site and a monastery. Among the most interesting museums we must mention Musée Matisse, where the entire artistic carrier of Matisse is retraced, and Musée Marc Chagall, where you can admire many paintings with a religious theme by the artist.
During the first months of the year, you cannot miss the important festival on Mardi Gras.
